Recurring-Revenue Business Services
Inspection, compliance, route-based and contract service businesses attract sponsors who want predictable cash flow. The premium goes to companies that can prove their revenue is contracted, sticky and not dependent on you.

Market Context
Niche business services with recurring revenue take many forms: testing and inspection, regulatory compliance, equipment servicing, route-based services, monitoring, outsourced administration and maintenance programs. Most have a core of customers who pay on contract or on a recurring schedule because the service is required or mission-critical.
Buyers use these businesses as platforms or add-ons because the earnings are predictable and the customer base is sticky. They discount heavily when they discover that revenue labeled recurring is really repeat-but-uncontracted, or that a few relationships carry the company.

Written agreements and renewal terms, as a share of total revenue.
Customer and revenue retention by cohort and reason for loss.
Clustered customers lower cost per visit and are easier for a buyer to absorb.
Escalators, price increases accepted without churn and margin by customer.
Scheduling, CRM, billing and reporting that let a buyer see the recurring base clearly.
Certified or trained staff, low turnover and a recruiting engine.
Readiness Issues
These are the issues that most often lower price, add earnouts or end conversations. Most take time to fix, which is why planning ahead matters.
